—Searching for Sunshine Project—
“Searching for Sunshine” is a new, collaborative project devised by Joanna Marie Skillett and Sophie Biebuyck that addresses the specific artistic educational needs of the children of Corbets Tey. “Searching for Sunshine” will run for a 6 week period in workshop format led by professional musicians, most of whom are graduates of Britain’s top conservatoires. Working alongside these artists, the children will develop the thematic material through Music, Art and Drama, culminating in two grand finale performances in June 2013.
Over 100 children and young people aged 4 -16 attend Corbets Tey, all of whom have statements detailing particular personal educational needs with learning challenges of one kind or another, including autism, and a number of medical syndromes.
Our project will be able to include every single child at the school, being of huge benefit to the pupils’ skill development, self-confidence and enjoyment and motivation in learning.
