Upminster youngster rewarded for her volunteer work

An inspirational teen has been rewarded for going above and beyond by helping out children with behavioural disorders.
Rebecca Halkman, 19, of Upminster, was presented with her Halifax Giving Extra award by the mayor of Havering, Cllr Linda Trew last week.

She was recognised for her work with Add+Up (Attention Deficit Disorders Uniting Parents), a charity that helps children with special educational needs in the east London area.

Rebecca has supported the charity since she was eight, when her brother was diagnosed with ADHD, and the business management student still helps out in her spare time.

She helps out at the afters chool club as well as summer projects and fundraising events.
